The DI Users Conference (UC) is an annual
event that provides DI's trauma registry users with unique software training
and networking opportunities. Led by DI's manangement and support teams, the
event features lecture and hands-on learning workshops, discussion sessions and
informational guest speaker presentations and extensive networking
opportunities.
The first UC was held in Toronto, Canada in
August of 1995. That first year, 14 users of the Collector Trauma Registry
software initiated what has become the the highlight of the year. Now in its
14th year, attendance at the event is consistently well-over the 200
mark!As attendance has grown DI has been able to offer more options
during each training session in order to meet the diverse needs of our registry
users!
There are many reasons so many people return
for the conference each year. Learning new skills, refreshing skills, and
gaining insight as to how their colleagues are handling issues similar to their
own are just a few. In addition, the opportunities to renew friendships and
experience the multitude of cities that have served as our host are also
popular reasons to come back. Often there is so much to see and do that many
conference attendees arrive a few days early and stay an extra day or two
making the most of their travel time.
Pre-Conference sessions will be offered on Wednesday,
October 8th.
Conference Overview
Spokane, WA
Spokane, WA is a quaint town on the eastern border of
Washington state. Upon arrival at the calm and uncongested airport, you'll have
about a 15-minute ride to the hotel. The colorful autumn scenery will be just
the first of many enjoyable memories you will have of your Spokane experience.
The hometown folks are extremely friendly and the shopping is grand.
Restaurants feature local specialties such as trout, salmon, Alaskan king crab
and elegant wines from numerous local vineyards (which also make for an
excellent daytip destination).
The conference hotel is located on just a few minutes walk
from downtown's nightlife activities- a theater, several dance clubs and low
key pubs will provide evening destinations for the likes of any conference
attendee. Walkers and joggers can enjoy a change of pace to their daily
exercise regime by spending some time on Centennial Trail, which is accessible
just outside the hotel door. Attending the conference also provides an
excellent opportunity to stay an extra day or two and explore the many
hiking areas, spas, wineries and other tourist activities that are nearby.
